When Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin confirmed that her teenage daughter, Bristol Palin, was expecting a baby, the celebrity gossip world believed the first photos of her newborn child would likely spark a bidding war among several publications.

Looks like Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston, born December 28 to Bristol and her baby daddy, Levi Johnston, is already delivering on that promise.

According to one source, bidding for the celebrity baby photos began at $100,000. People won out in the end, but In Touch Weekly was the only other weekly to make serious bids, according to several sources involved in the process.

STRAIGHT TRIPPIN': That's actually Trig Palin, Sarah Palin's son, with Bristol and Levi. No photos of their baby, Tripp, have been released yet, but People won the rights.

The price didn't soar immediately, according to sources, because Sarah Palin gossip just doesn’t sell all that well for the magazines on newsstands.

“Sarah was on the cover of People, Us Weekly, and OK! the same week, and really only People saw a bump in sales," says an inside source.

But then the recent, felony drug-related arrest of Levi Johnston's mother, Sherry Johnston, caused the price tag for the photos to go up suddenly.

"The bidding started well before the baby was born, but once Levi Johnston’s mom was arrested - well, then you had a story,” says one editor.

None of the magazines would confirm the exact figure for how much Bristol Palin made from the deal - most estimates hover around the $300,000 range.

No word on whether the money from the pics will go to charity, or whether it will all be spent on Sarah Palin's wardrobe and/or 2012 presidential bid.

Britney Spears has certainly dated some interesting characters in the past couple of years - from J.R. Rotem to Isaac Cohen to Adnan Ghalib.

Now, supposedly, she’s been swept off her feet - literally! - by none other than a handsome Bollywood dance instructor, Sandip Soparrkar!

Sandip has probably seen Britney naked ... when he choreographed her "Womanizer" music video. She was nude at the beginning. That's a fact.

What falls short of that classification is the rumor circulating that Britney just flew to Jodhpur, India, for a romantic three-day Christmas break with him.

Britney Spears and Sandip Soparrkar have supposedly been dating for three weeks, and allegedly exchanged homemade presents under the tree there.

“It’s early days but their romance is going from strength to strength," a source tells the UK's Mirror. “Britney and Sandip have tried to keep their reunion in India hush-hush as they’re determined to have a relationship like any other couple."

So we're expected to believe that Britney Spears just flew to India and back without any celeb news coverage? We're skeptical to say the least. There's also this hilarious (albeit likely made-up) quote about their Christmas dinner together:

Moderately famous actress Eliza Dushku is totally dating L.A. event planner / club promoter Brent Bolthouse, a.k.a. Heidi Montag's boss on The Hills.

According to an eyewitness, the couple was spotted grabbing dinner together at a local diner in Eliza’s hometown of Watertown, Mass., with her parents, who watched as the coupled canoodled. Brent was even seen taking photos of Eliza.

“They were very cute,” the insider said.

According to the New York Post, Eliza Dushku and Brent Bolthouse made an appearance last week with Eliza’s family and friends in the VIP section at the Estate club in Boston. Sadly (thankfully), Heidi Montag was not on hand to promote it.

Earlier this month, the cute star of many a canned series was spotted making out with Bolthouse (who was falsely rumored to be with Lauren Conrad last year) the set of her new show, Dollhouse, which is set premiere February 13.
