Taking a break from her daily shooting schedule, Mischa Barton was spotted chilling out in New York City yesterday afternoon (August 31).

The “Oh in Ohio” actress looked to be having a lovely time as she chatted with some friends at Sant Ambroeus while her pooch pals relaxed beneath the outdoor table.

Following her meal, Miss Barton did some good old fashioned people watching from her vantage point on the patio while smoking a cigarette.

And when she returned to her swanky Manhattan hotel, Mischa looked very displeased to find a slew of shutterbugs awaiting her arrival.

She’s been looking forward to this day for months now, and today (September 1st) Whitney Houston’s new album I Look to You hits stores and online retailers.

The “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” songstress is the latest artist to mount a career comeback, and it sounds like she’s definitely got something to offer with her latest opus.

“Seven years after her last album of pop songs, two years after her divorce, Whitney Houston re-emerges with full diva qualifications on ‘I Look to You,’ released Monday. Most of its revelations aren’t verbal; they’re in the husky, vehement sound of her voice,” reviewed Jon Pareles of the New York Times.

And the Washington Post stated, “I Look to You is a finely calibrated, just-modern-enough mix of mom-friendly club bangers and dauntless ballads that, in retrospect, seems like the only album she could have made.”

While out and about in Beverly Hills yesterday (August 31), Renee Zellweger was involved in a minor car accident.

According to a report, the “Bridget Jones’ Diary” babe was uninjured during the incident which was said to have occurred in the morning hours.

A police officer told press, “A green Ford Explorer made an illegal U-turn in front of her silver Mercedes.  Ms. Zellweger was not injured, the damage to her car was very minor.  She was very polite and sincere.”

The officer added, “The incident will be handled between their insurance companies. Ms. Zellweger requested her car be towed from the scene, and also requested that officers call her a cab.”

In an industry where couples come and go like the wind, it’s cool to see that Ed Westwick and Jessica Szohr are still so happy together.

Last night, the “Gossip Girl” costars were spotted enjoying a romantic dinner out at Lure Fishbar in the SoHo district of New York City.

And throughout the duration of their dinner date, Ed and Jessica were observed dancing with each other and kissing throughout the meal as the paparazzi looked on.

Of course, Mr. Westwick and Miss Szohr attempted to avoid shutterbug surveillance by arriving and departing separately, though it was obvious they were on a romantic outing together.

Leaving their little son Bronx home with a babysitter, Ashlee Simpson and Pete Wentz were spotted out on a dinner date in West Hollywood last night (August 31).

The Fall Out Boy bassist and his “Pieces of Me” wife looked to be enjoying each other’s company as they made their way back to their car, carrying a container of leftovers for Pete’s dogs.

In related news, Wentz recently told press that his new comic book series “Fall Out Toy Works” was inspired by his son.  “I think after you have a kid, all of a sudden you want to do things that your kid can see.”

He continued, “The underlying theme of the story looks at human beings’ most essential question: Can you create artificial love?  It explores the dimensions of what love really is. Can it be designed in you? Can a robot fall in love?”

Kicking off her week with a swanky evening out, Shenae Grimes was spotted grabbing dinner at STK restaurant in Los Angeles last night (August 31).

The “90210” babe looked lovely as she strolled up to the uber-popular eatery with a few friends, sporting a skimpy black dress with black stockings and black heels.

In related news, it seems Miss Grimes has been enjoying playing her character Annie as she has plenty of common ground with her from past experience.

“Annie was raised with Kansas values with a very close-knit relationship with her family, and then some drama went down last season. This year she’s going through the teen angsty stuff I went through a few years back. We’ve all had those bratty moments. But hopefully I can bring some wisdom to the character and do it with a sense of realism.”

Showing off her athletic prowess, Audrina Patridge threw out the first pitch before the MLB game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and Los Angeles Dodgers at Dodger Stadium on Monday night (August 31).

Proving to be not so much of a good luck charm, the “Hills” hottie watched on as the home team ended up losing a close game that ended with a score of 5-3.

The outing comes on the very same day in which Miss Patridge officially announced that she’s leaving “The Hills”.

Of the decision, Audrina told press: “I’m almost done with ‘The Hills.’ We’re in the middle of finishing these episodes, and I’ll be leaving them.”
