Just one month after marrying, Adriana Lima and Marko Jaric are already experiencing the pitfalls of being a celebrity couple.

As previously reported by Gossip Girls, Jaric, who’s an NBA player for the Memphis Grizzlies, was accused of sexually assaulting a woman while in Philadelphia for a game against the 76ers last Saturday.

Since the story broke late last night, Jaric has been cleared of any wrongdoing, as his attorney Bruce L. Castor Jr. released the following statement to Gossip Girls via FOX Pop Tarts on behalf of his client.

“I received official word from the Philadelphia District Attorneys office that after a thorough investigation no charges will be filed against my client Marko Jaric, (an NBA player for the Memphis Grizzlies), in connection with the alleged incident with an unnamed female on February 11, 2009 while his team was in town to play the 76ers.”

Castor Jr. adds, “Persons in Marko’s position are often the target of malicious statements and it is not unusual for the police to be asked to investigate.  However, these allegations were proved to be completely false, and while Marko is extremely unsettled by these accusations, he is happy that the law enforcement authorities have cleared him of any criminal conduct and the issue can now be put to rest.”

Having rarely been seen since she was allegedly assaulted by boyfriend Chris Brown, Rihanna was spotted out and about in New York City on Friday afternoon (March 13).

Accompanied by her bodyguard, the “Umbrella” songstress sported sunglasses over ehw face as she made her way around the Big Apple.

The outing comes the same day that it was confirmed that the Barbadian beauty is teaming up with Brown for a duet, with a source telling Us magazine that the song was written by Brown for Rihanna before the fight.

The insider tells, “It wasn’t initially slated for Chris to be on the song. The funny thing is, the song expresses the emotions that both Chris and Rihanna are feeling at this moment—facing challenges and overcoming the ups and downs of a relationship.”

Looking a bit disheveled, Ashley Tisdale was spotted leaving the Andy Lecompte salon in Beverly Hills on Friday (March 13).

It is being reported that Rihanna’s family is planning an intervention for the “Umbrella” singer in order to get her away from her “Kiss Kiss” boyfriend.

Rihanna’s mom, Monica Fenty, is said to be distraught that she’s back with Chris, while her friends and family fear she’s under his control.

According to a source, however, “Rihanna insists that she and Chris are passionate people who’ll get counseling.”

Not only does she perform for her fans, she looks out for them as well. And at a concert in Phoenix, AZ last night, the lovely Jessica Simpson offered her advice to the female members of her audience.

With the topic of relationship abuse popping up quite a bit these days, the 28-year-old singer told the crowd, “No matter what you go through in life, no matter what abuse you go through, take your heart and run so far away.”

Right after offering that piece of advice, Simpson sang the song “Remember That,” which features the lyrics: “It doesn’t matter how he hurts you/With his hands or with his words/You don’t deserve it.”

Although Simpson has never named names, she admitted last year that she had been in an abusive relationship.
